WINES AVAILABLE AT THE FESTIVAL

Some of those attending the Festival (accompanying Real Ale enthusiasts) may wish to drink a glass or two of wine rather than the beers that are offered. For that reason, the following wines will be available :-

White Wines

1. CHARDONNAY SICILIA (13%abv)

This white wine is made from Chardonnay grapes grown in Sicily. The wine is straw-yellow in colour with golden reflexes. The bouquet is floral and intense, with hints of tropical fruits; there is a delicate almond aftertaste.

2.  PINOT GRIGIO/GARGANEGA  DELLE VENEZIE (12%abv)

This white wine comes from the north-east of Italy and is a blend of Pinot Grigio and Garganega grapes. The Pinot Grigio is now the world’s best-selling white grape variety; the Garganega is the main grape used to make Soave. The wine has a floral bouquet; there is a hint of peaches and apricots in the taste.

Red Wines

3.  BARBERA D’ALBA (13%abv)

This red wine comes from around the town of Alba in the south of Piedmont in north-west Italy; it is made from the Barbera grape, which is the most heavily planted grape in Italy. The wine is dark, ruby-red in colour. It has an intense and vinous bouquet with hints of dried fruits. The wine is well-structured with a soft and rich taste.

4.  LANGHE NEBBIOLO (13%abv)
